Breathtaking home with an entertainment barn in Sonoma’s Wine Country

modern-home-exterior

Bevan + Associates has designed this breathtaking house and entertainment barn/guest house for a newly retired couple, nestled on a 2-acre porperty in Sonoma, California. During the construction phase, the home was almost lost to the wildfires in the area during 2017. The owner was inspired to take a new approach with this home, commissioning interiors studio McCaffrey Design Group to curate an impressive art collection for the home.

The brief called for bringing in playful pops of color inspired by the landscape while not letting the country vibes affect the design decisions. The floor plan encompasses an open plan kitchen/dining/living area, pantry, wine cellar, laundry room, mudroom, his/her offices, and a separate study. In his spare time, the husband is a competitive ping pong player. The property also includes an entertainment barn with a space for his ping pong practice, along with a kitchen for entertaining and guest quarters.
