Walton Architect in collaboration with Heslin Construction has designed this inviting mountain home located in the Martis Camp community of Truckee, California. This state-of-the-art sanctuary encompasses 5,174 square feet with five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. Drawn to bright colors and modern details, this home represents the charisma of its owners.
The homeowners began this project with the goal of constructing a completely unique and creative home to reflect their eclectic style as filtered through the mountain environment. Bringing the outdoors in was the driving force behind the creation of this dwelling. The starting point for the architect was to design the home around the concepted “tumbling stream” water feature.

Natural finishes were selected as the backdrop to compliment inspired custom details such as colorful furniture and wall art.
Steel beam construction allows for large windows and fully retractable sliding doors, letting light easily enter the airy home, even further emphasizing the colorful details. No detail was spared in constructing this modern mountain beauty exactly as the homeowner’s had envisioned it.
What We Love: This inviting mountain home showcases an array of colorful furnishings and contemporary details throughout its design. Expansive walls of glass fold away to create an indoor-outdoor living environment that is quite idyllic. We are especially loving the unique design of the exterior facade and the tumbling stream water feature that adds a zen-like element on the property.
