This beautiful English country home was designed by Wade Weissmann Architecture, located on a Lake Michigan shoreline property in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When the client had first commissioned the architects, they were residing in a beautifully tailored โarts and craftsโ style dwelling that showcased quintessential English Tudor detailing.
They had fallen in love with the warmth, materials, and craftsmanship of their residence, and were hoping that their newly acquired home would reflect some of these same characteristics. The goal for this newly developed residence was to embrace the sensibilities of the familiar English country home.
Utilizing various materials to compose a casual yet unique facade, the architects played with local symmetries on the elevations, composing them in a decidedly fun and informal manner.
Large, expressive chimneys and exquisite combinations of brick, timber, and cement stucco come together to create a charming, and undeniably welcoming exterior.
What We Love: This gorgeous English country house offers its inhabitants a warm and welcoming environment both indoors and out. We are just loving the exterior facade of this home, fantastic curb appeal! A gorgeous mix of materials makes the facade very appealing. On the interior, the heavy use of wood in the foyer brings inviting warmth, beckoning guests inside. Large windows boast delightful views of Lake Michigan for a tranquil living environment.

Note: Take a look at a couple of other fabulous home tours that we have featured here on One Kindesign from the portfolio of the architects of this project, : A plantation style home brimming with Southern charm in Nashville and Lake house transformed into nautical-inspired retreat on Lake Geneva.
On this homeโs beautiful interior, and echoing the layout of many great country homes, rooms were arranged around a central two-story hall, which features a library, which stands atop the spaceโs grand staircase.
Flanked by large, wooden windows, each of the living areas within this meticulously crafted residence enables its inhabitants to feel as though they are just a few steps away from the waterโs edge.
In accordance with the ownerโs desire for indoor/outdoor living, several terraces and porches are positioned just outside several of the homeโs main living spaces.
