Brandon Architects and Patterson Customs Homes created this incredibly inviting beach house situated on Lido Isle, a desirable housing community on an island in the middle of Newport Bay in Newport Beach, California. This custom-designed 3,245-square-foot residence embraces the strata lifestyle by opening up to the pedestrian pathway.

Traditional materials, including white-washed brick, steel doors and windows, and wood paneling, are expressed with contemporary detailing to bring the exterior into the interior of this dwelling. Continue below to see the rest of this spectacular home tour…

Gorgeous steel French doors along the back patio allow cool ocean breezes to flow into the kitchen.

The bronze exterior lanterns on the exterior facade were sourced from Linden Rose & Co. These fixtures provide the perfect weight to balance the windows and doors manufactured by Euroline Steel Windows. The same manufacturer also makes a matching pendant light in the dining room, which helps to tie the indoor and outdoor spaces together to create one cohesive design.

The low-profile frames on the Euroline steel windows and doors are unique and beautiful. They offer a clean simplicity to the home’s design and enhance the natural light brought into the living space.

What We Love: This inviting Newport Beach house features steel windows and doors throughout, creating a timeless aesthetic. The heavy use of glazing has eliminated walls to create interior rooms that can be completely opened and closed to facilitate the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that makes this region so desirable. Overall, the project team did a fabulous job of creating a relaxed lifestyle for this home’s lucky inhabitants.

Love the house, but the Craftsman style furniture just doesn’t go with it.

That’s what I thought. There is so much I love about this home, especially the steel doors and the baths. If you could afford the house, you can afford a decorator.
