Corona House is an exceptional midcentury modern home in La Jolla, California, custom-crafted by Mark A Silva Architect in collaboration with MLA Contractors. This project was a labor of love from initial planning to the finished, flawless product, encompassing 3,499 square feet of living space with four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
With interior design expertly handled by Dawson Design Group, the home boasts environmentally responsible and the finest handcrafted materials selected from Concrete Collaborative, including custom doors and windows from All Weather Architectural Aluminum. This home had to retain 50% of its original exterior walls and cat-faced block, which were meticulously refurbished and integrated into the design. This home sets the standard for luxury and quality.

What We Love About This Home
The project team did a masterful job of honoring this home’s midcentury heritage while elevating it to a luxurious level. The interplay of original cat-faced block walls, floor-to-ceiling glass, and warm wood ceilings creates a layered richness that feels both authentic and thoroughly modern. From the bold orange entry door to the show-stopping yellow tile in the owner’s bath and sweeping Pacific Ocean views from nearly every room, this home is an MCM dream.
