A 1920s bungalow gets a beautiful modern farmhouse makeover in Texas

modern-farmhouse-exterior

This modern farmhouse began as a 1920s 600-square-foot bungalow and has been reimagined by Element 5 Architecture in Austin, Texas. The original house is still visible and incorporated into the addition. The front entry room is part of the renovated original house, and an additional 1,600 square feet was added, bringing the total to 2,100 square feet.

The house features an open floor plan, large windows, and plenty of natural light, which is impressive considering its dense, urban neighborhood setting. The pavers leading up to the front door are 2’x4′. Continue below to see the rest of this modern farmhouse tour filled with vibrant colors and charm…

What We Love: The openness of this modern farmhouse in Texas makes it feel larger than its 2,200 square feet of living space. The unexpected pop of blue in the kitchen is beautiful. We love how the designer tied the whole space together by carrying the color of the kitchen cabinets around to different areas of the home. The stunning rustic wood floors add the perfect character. Overall, every space in this home is sensational.
