A 1920’s dwelling wasย renovated with historic character and modern warmthย by William Duff Architects, located in Pacific Heights, a neighborhood in San Francisco, California. The new home features a restored shingled facade on the front of the home and focuses on natural, modern elements to the interiors. The interior layout wasย completely transformed and takes full advantage of the impressive views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. A neutral design palette is characterized by orange accents playfully dispersed throughout the interiors. Kendall Wilkinson Designย was responsible for the interior design of this project, introducing a contrasting style of modern, yet warm, materials. The home caters to the California lifestyle, taking full advantage ofย indoor-outdoor living environments andย indulging in the family’s love of entertaining and sports.
A split level family room on the ground floor features material elementsย of exposed brick walls, concrete flooring and a dramatic wood ceiling. Lift and slide steel doors disappear into the walls, with the interiors spilling out onto an exterior backyard terrace and yard, inviting family activity and additional entertaining spaces.
