What We Love: This nature-inspired lake house offers newly revamped living spaces that are airy and inviting. Since this region has long winters, we are loving how the architects created indoor spaces that bring nature inside, so the inhabitants can feel like they are connected with the outdoors, even during inclement weather. The kitchen is also fantastic, with its clerestory windows and exquisite design details.

Tell Us: What are your overall thoughts on the complete re-design of this residence? Are there any details that you would vision differently if this were your home? Please share your thoughts in the Comments, we love reading your feedback!

This dramatically scaled kitchen brings a sense of theatre to everyday meal prep. A black stone floor with a rusticated edge gives the space depth. The clerestory above the kitchen island floods the room with saturated sunlight. Rich-grain oak cabinetry brings in a rustic note, in line with the rest of the home. The Industrial-inspired pendant lights amp up the feel of a working kitchen.

An awkward landing between the first and second levels is re-imagined as a light-flooded sitting area. Filled with palms and other greenery, this interior conservatory creates a feeling of whimsy and fun. Trellis ceiling work and a garden-inspired pendant add visual interest. On the floor, Ann Sacks concrete tile with an interlocking circle pattern lends the space playful pattern and color for visual appeal.
