Shingle-Style Residence-Swan Architecture-01-1 Kindesign

This shingle-style residence was designed by Swan Architecture and built by John Kraemer & Sons, located in Carman Bay, a community of Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota. Designed as a home away from home for a family of four, the cottage serves as a wonderful destination spot for seasonal recreation.

When the parents retire, they will eventually transition to this relaxing home as their primary residence. The exterior facade showcases a coastal, weathered aesthetic; a beautiful mix of Bluestone Veneer (source) and shaker tiles with a solid color stain in the color Foghorn (source). All of the trim is Winter White-OC21 by Benjamin Moore.

The roof material is a natural cedar shingle. The front and garage doors are comprised of wood, custom designed by local craftsman. Notice the copper rain gutters.

In the kitchen, custom designed cabinets have been painted in Benjamin Moore White Dove (a very popular paint selection). This contrasts nicely with the gray ceramic tile backsplash. The kitchen island features Carrera marble with a farmhouse style white porcelain sink. The flooring is quarter sawn white oak hardwood, custom blended to match a sample the clients supplied to the designers.

Any chance I can get a referral to the party that made the door?

One of the most beautiful homes ever featured on this site. This kind of architecture and design is produced by people who appreciate beauty and actually like other people. They want other people to experience beauty. Most architecture now is, unfortunately, coming from people who hate beauty and disdain humanity.

Could someone please tell me what the wall color was in the living room and stair well ? It looks great against the white dove trim!

Views were great! Don’t like TV’s above fireplaces, steep ascents on stairs, needs more landings and ditch the driveway by the front door.
