Geddes Ulinskas Architects and Lauren Nelson Design have reimagined this vineyard home for a young family of five in the quaint small town of Kenwood, nestled between the mountains separating Napa and Sonoma, California. The beautiful house has 3,000 square feet of living space with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.
This home is a retreat for summer and holiday vacations to enjoy with extended family and friends. The designer’s job was to create a cozy, playful, lived-in retreat that allows guests to move easily between the pool and the house and feel comfortable in every space. There is no fretting over wet bathing suits on the couch or pets on the furniture. Continue below to see more of this stunning home tour…

The designer leaned into repurposing old furniture with new indoor/outdoor fabrics and gave rooms their own color stories with paint and patterned textiles that are inspired by traditional English cottages.
A shingled, multi-gabled roofline characterizes the delightful exterior. The lushly landscaped front yard was transformed into a meadow, drawing inspiration from classic English gardens.

When reimaging this kitchen, the designer updated many smaller elements, including a fresh coat of paint, new cabinetry hardware, swapping the backsplash tile, a new faucet, and light fixtures. For the island, the original legs were large with a country-style aesthetic. A simple solution was to give them an instant facelift with solid wood furniture feet from Tablelegs.com.
