Perched on a mountaintop in North Asheville with sweeping views of downtown Asheville, the lake, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, this traditionally-styled home got a bold interior transformation by Northside Design Collective and Jade Mountain Builders. The home’s traditional architecture, seen in its trim and mouldings, remained intact while the interiors were fully reimagined.
Step inside this warm and inviting home to find 4,876 square feet of living space, perfect for everyday living and entertaining. The entry introduces a refreshed palette layered over the existing stone floor, leading into a dining room where vibrant drapery and lighting create an early sense of the home’s bold use of color.

Entry Hall with Gold Sideboard and Mirror

Throughout the home, existing artwork and furnishings informed the color palette. Each room was developed through layered textures and materials, from the sitting room’s blush tones, cork wallcovering, and gold plaster ceiling to patterned drapery framing mountain views.

What We Love About This Home
The two-story living room is a showstopper, with its custom walnut and brass fireplace surround, fluted charcoal firebox, and floor-to-ceiling grid windows framing Blue Ridge Mountain views. Throughout the home, bold color and layered texture work in harmony, from the jewel-toned sitting room’s gold leaf ceiling and cork wallcovering to the kitchen’s deep plaster ceiling and marble-clad island. Every space, including the pantry, craft room, bunk room, and home gym, received the same thoughtful attention to finish and detail.

Two-Story Living Room with Custom Fireplace

In the two-story living room, a custom fireplace anchors the main gathering space, designed for both family connection and expansive views. Dark fluted plaster, walnut paneling, and gold-toned metallic finishes are balanced by natural light and softened with warm woods and bright upholstery, creating a space that is both dramatic and inviting.

Bunk Room with Built-In Beds and Brass Details

Downstairs, a former guest room was reimagined as a flexible bunk room, complete with a walnut queen bed, built-in bunks with gold-toned details, and a custom closet to accommodate visiting family.

Bathroom Vanity with Oval Mirror and Marble

In the bathroom, an existing window inspired a layered solution: an oval mirror floats in front, allowing for both natural light and function. A custom vanity, scalloped backsplash, and mosaic limestone floor add depth against moody wallcovering.
