Architecture studio Chalet has designed this stunning Cape Cod-style home located in Cherry Hills Village, just south of Denver, Colorado. The homeowners are long-time Denver, Colorado, residents and have a deep love for the East Coast and the open-air feel of Newport and the villages along Cape Cod.
They found a wonderful site in Cherry Hills Village where we could bring this inspiration to life. Starting with a flagpole greeting you in the front, a sight line guides you through the open door and beyond. The yard, filled with a carefully curated selection of flowers and ornamentals, is lovingly tended from the cottage, which has an adjoining greenhouse.

During the design process, the architects were intoxicated by the significance of the Dutch gambrel roof. Their studies of Newport houses and the works of McKim, Mead & White helped them appreciate the freedom of the American Shingle Style.

Sitting on its parcel in Cherry Hills, this home’s sense of breeziness is an invitation. The architects anticipate generations of enjoyment within these walls.

What We Love About This Home
This inviting Cape Cod-inspired retreat captures the timeless charm of the East Coast, blending a Dutch gambrel roof, breezy indoor and outdoor connections, and beautifully curated gardens that make the whole property feel warm, inviting, and lived-in. The exterior facade offers fantastic curb appeal, while living spaces are bright and airy with a sense of calm throughout.
