This gorgeous waterfront property was remodeled and modernized from top to bottom by Etch Design Group, nestled on Lake Austin, Texas. Originally, it was a very traditional Spanish-style home with a red clay tile roof and had large stone pillars at every turn. The goal of this project was to update all of the interior finishes and transform the elements of the home without making it feel as if it was a departure from the exterior design elements that were predominately staying in place.
The original floor plan felt very compartmentalized, and we focused on opening up the kitchen and living areas to create more of a cohesion between the different spaces. They also raised the ceiling heights to maximize the open-concept feeling. The finished product is a true showstopper!

The project team modernized and updated the entire interior from top to bottom, replaced all windows and doors, added a courtyard outside the owner’s retreat, and selected every element throughout every space of the home. They also outfitted the home with all-new interior furnishings to accent the beautiful backdrop.
They added a dual-sided fireplace, wrapped with gorgeous Dekton slabs, between the living room and the breakfast room. The two powder bathrooms feature beautiful hand-crafted waterfall edge stone countertops with integrated slab sinks.
They focused on the homeowner’s needs and lifestyle to create a more modern interior with an open floor plan. Natural light was a key component, as well as capturing the beautiful waterfront view along the backside of the property.
In the kitchen, they installed motorized cabinet doors to conceal the appliance garages and added Bocci plugs at the kitchen backsplash.
What We Love: This waterfront property was beautifully reimagined to maximize views of Lake Austin and bring in an abundance of natural light. Living spaces feel light and airy with expansive windows that frame picturesque vistas and create a seamless connection to the outdoors. The thoughtful design seamlessly blends modern elegance with the tranquil surroundings, offering the home’s inhabitants a serene retreat to unwind.
