Giulietti Schouten Weber Architects are responsible for the renovation and addition of this stunning lake house located on Lake Oswego, Oregon. This 3,126 square foot home sits on a tight, steeply sloping, infill lot that terraces down to the water with direct boat and dock access to Lake Oswego.
The homeowners wanted to alter the existing lakeside home substantially, and a new design meant severing off the existing structure at the garage and building a new one with a compact, three-tiered plan, embedded into the hillside. The built form takes shape from the plan with three stacked, offset boxes that maximize views of the water while providing privacy from the neighbors and the street.

Each level was designed with an adjacent deck or terrace to provide access to the outdoors, allowing the clients to experience the lake setting from various perspectives. A bridge spans from the street to the entry door for improved, direct access to the home’s top level, giving uninterrupted views of the lake beyond.
What We Love: This Oregon lake house offers a wonderful indoor-outdoor living experience thanks to its updated design. Walls of sliding glass not only blur indoor-outdoor boundaries but invite fresh breezes off the lake and extends indoor entertaining spaces. Overall, this exciting new lakefront dwelling in the Pacific Northwest has a warm and welcoming feel thanks to the heavy use of wood and comfortable furnishings.
