See the remarkable transformation of a beach barn house on Block Island

Taylor Interior Design is responsible for the renovation of this stunning beach barn house located on Block Island, just south of mainland Rhode Island. When the owners purchased this peninsula property, it already had a barn that needed to be demolished.

Within this limited footprint, the owners constructed a new four-bedroom dwelling that required a mix of creative design solutions to accommodate guest rooms and ample entertaining spaces. The main level has an open layout with furnishings selected to not block the outdoor views, including a backless daybed in the conversation area and a kitchen table and chairs at bar-stool height.

What We Love: This beach barn house offers its occupants a warm and inviting atmosphere thanks to the heavy use of wood, comfortable furnishings, and beautiful accents. A fabulous indoor-outdoor connection expands the living spaces while framing the magnificent views. Overall, we are loving the design of this home, from the amazing loft/office space to the industrial and beach chic accents throughout.

The interior design is a beautiful mix of urban chic and classic seaside, boasting custom light fixtures, industrial sinks, and tiled kitchen and bath walls set against wood beams, barn doors, and rustic flooring.
