Beautiful home designed with casual yet sophisticated styling in Chicago

Bria Hammel Interiors is responsible for the furnishings and interior styling of this casual yet sophisticated home located in Winnetka, a dreamy suburb just outside of Chicago, Illinois. The owners, a family with three boys had moved into this beautiful new construction house, contracting the designer to give it a refresh.

The designer created living spaces that were beautiful, approachable, and unique to their personalities. Drawn to a traditional style, spaces are made to feel timeless, sophisticated yet casual enough for kids and open. For the color palette, the owners wished for cooler, grayer tones while seamlessly mixing in warmth and contrast.

I really appreciate that they matched the kitchen cabinet hardware with the rest of the light fixtures on the first floor–all silver or nickel. It provided a nice, light consistency. It’s a beautiful home. The ONLY thing that bothered me was that the mirror in the foyer was the wrong size–not to scale–which made it appear skimpy. :)

Very “clean”. . .my favorite piece was the tufted coffee table/bench in saddle tan leather. Wow! And the nightstand lamps in the bedroom.

Felt like I was on a “Howse” tour instead of a house tour. Again, no idea of the architecture of the home…just an ad for interior decorating and creative photography.

Airy, bright and beautifully classical.
