Charming rustic mountain cabin provides idyllic getaway in a pine forest

rustic-living-room

Design-build firm Red Rock Contractors has designed this charming rustic mountain cabin as a retreat for a growing family, located in Heber-Overgaard, Navajo County, Arizona. Open spaces and durable yet beautiful materials were key ingredients that went into the design of this cabin for a young, active family.

To that end, bespoke elements featuring tough materials are infused throughout ranging from distressed millwork, locally sourced live edge wood slabs, lodge pole bunk beds to soapstone shower walls and granite sinks. A massive pine timber anchors the main Great Room and stairway. Carefully selected natural materials lend to the warm character of each space.

What We Love: This charming rustic mountain cabin delivers the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway, surrounded by a beautiful pine forest. Inside, warm and inviting living spaces were designed with a layering of textures and cozy furnishings. Wood ceilings and walls add to the overall warmth of this dwelling. We are especially loving the living room with it’s soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

Tell Us: What details do you find most appealing in the design of this rustic mountain cabin? Please share your overall thoughts in the Comments, we love reading your feedback!

What type of flooring was used in the bedrooms? Are the walls painted or have some other covering in the guest bedroom?

I love everything about this place!! It’s just beautiful! Where abouts did you purchase your kitchen sink? I’ve never seen one so rustic. I’ve only seen sinks like that for bathroom sinks. Really nice!
