modern-mountain-home-exterior

This modern mountain home is designed by Walton Architecture in collaboration with Jim Morrison Construction, located in Martis Camp, a luxury enclave in Lake Tahoe, California. Encompassing 4,812 square feet of living space, this home offers four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. Built for a San Francisco-based family with two adolescent daughters, this dwelling is used as a summer getaway and winter ski retreat.

Floor-to-ceiling steel windows within the main Great Room creates an airy transparency connecting you to the surrounding wilderness. Thoughtfully created to feel cohesive throughout, the interior architecture takes a restrained approach to a modern farmhouse aesthetic. Created in close collaboration with the owner who has a background in art, the decor features a balance of custom furniture, vintage finds from all over the world and the homeowner’s prodigious personal art collection.
