Situated within Lake Tahoe’s Martis Camp enclave, this stunning modern mountain home was created by Walton Architecture together with Jim Morrison Construction. Encompassing 4,812 square feet of living space, this home offers four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. Built for a San Francisco-based family with two adolescent daughters, this residence is used as a summer getaway and winter ski retreat.
Floor-to-ceiling steel windows within the main Great Room creates an airy transparency connecting the interiors to the surrounding wilderness. Thoughtfully created to feel cohesive throughout, the interior architecture takes a restrained approach to a modern farmhouse aesthetic, balancing clean lines with warmth and texture.

A Soaring Steel-Framed Entryway With Forest Views

Created in close collaboration with the owner who has a background in art, the decor features a balance of custom furniture, vintage finds from all over the world and the homeowner’s prodigious personal art collection. Throughout the home, layered materials and subtle handcrafted details soften the expansive modern architecture, reflecting the rugged beauty of the mountain landscape while creating a comfortable and inviting family home.

Each space throughout the interiors feels separate yet cohesive, offering both intimate and public spaces for family gathering and entertaining.
