This stunning modern farmhouse style home was designed by Tim Brown Architecture, located in a neighborhood outside of the heart of Austin, Texas. The design reflects clean lines and simple forms, producing a beautiful aesthetic. The architects were inspired by the traditional farmhouse feel when designing for this home. They used this vernacular, while stripping away details to create a more sleek aesthetic. They call their design the “American Farmhouse”. The home was constructed by Redbud Construction Co. Above: The exterior facade consists of a mixture of JamesHardie board and batten siding along with 5″ JamesHardie lap siding (both are fiber cement). The paint on the exterior is Benjamin Moore Pure White.

Above: The vaulted ceilings peak height is 16 feet, tapering into clerestory windows that helps to illuminate the space with natural light.

Above: Highlights in this home includes white oak hardwood flooring, finished with a minwax grey toner. The wood infuses warmth into the otherwise white interiors and helps to ground the space. The Dash & Albert area rug on the floor in the kitchen adds a touch of color and pattern. The siding on the walls (1×6 Poplar wood) and custom cabinetry in the kitchen are both Benjamin Moore Pure White.

Above: This stunning elegant kitchen features an island with marble countertops and a backsplash with an intricate tile pattern. The source of the tile cannot be found, however, we did find something similar to help get you started on your search. The backsplash is Carrara marble and ribbons of mother of pearl. Artistic Tile has a similar look.

Above: According to the architects, “these units are Mitsubishi mini-split heat pumps. They are very efficient and can run in temperatures down to -20 degrees Fahrenheit without an electric back-up strip.”
