The stunning interiors of this brand new minimal house is the creative imagination of interior design firm Sisällä, located in Winifred Crescent Reserve, Toorak, Victoria, Australia. When designing for the interiors of this home, the objective was to create a beautiful balance of contemporary minimalism with an inviting ambiance. The project focuses on creating a timeless aesthetic, placing importance on material elements and designer furnishings. The designer combined richly textured travertine stone with dark timber and elegant blackened steel to create visual interest. To further enhance the interior architecture, furnishings, lighting and decor was layered throughout.
An open plan layout combines the living room, dining room and kitchen in one bright and airy space. The kitchen island is the perfect spot for casual meals or for guests to hang out while entertaining. A sink on the island helps with prep work, while windows in place of a backsplash provides natural light. Suspended over the dining room table is a beautiful focal point, the branch chandelier from Lindsey Adelman. In the living room, the infamous Noguchi coffee table adds to the clean, contemporary lines found throughout the interiors. A black and white color palette adds sophistication, with hints of color of blue and pink.
What We Love: This minimal house design has a lot of fabulous details with a very sophisticated vibe. We love the use of wood and travertine stone, its heavy and dark but is balanced well with white walls and plenty of natural light. The kitchen is stunning, open and spacious and the skylight above really helps to light up the space. Overall, a visually pleasing treat for the eyes… what do you think?
