Nestled on the edge of a serene pond in Jackson, Wyoming, this stunning Mountain Modern home by JLF Architects beautifully blends rustic tradition with contemporary living. Built by On-Site Management, the home showcases exceptional custom craftsmanship and timber framing, with masonry, plaster, and interior furnishings that draw from a rich French country aesthetic.
With over 40 years of experience pioneering Mountain Modern design, JLF Architects are recognized leaders in building sustainable legacy homes using reclaimed timber and indigenous stone. Montana fieldstone, reclaimed lumber, corral board, and hand-picked timbers were carefully selected in collaboration with the homeowners to achieve a cohesive color palette that feels both intentional and deeply personal. This LEED-certified home was thoughtfully engineered to withstand Wyoming’s harsh winters while keeping interiors warm and inviting year-round.

JLF design principal and president Paul Bertelli has said: “We have always believed in sustainability—we believe that the most sustainable thing we can do as architects and builders is to construct houses that last a century or more. We make them with materials that mature, get better with age, and require very little maintenance. They are rigorously engineered and extraordinarily structured to be robust and durable, so they are ultimately timeless, not trendy.”
