Axial Arts Architecture, in collaboration with rebaL Design, created this stunning modern rustic home nestled on a 35-acre dude ranch property called C Lazy U Ranch in Granby, Colorado. Serving as a summer vacation home for a family of five whose primary residence is in Florida, this mountain retreat is built into a steep hillside and features spacious wooden decks and stone patios that provide sweeping views of the pasture, Willow Creek Reservoir, and the Indian Peaks in the distance.

The architects carefully sited this home on the property, a lofty perch on the hillside, to take full advantage of the breathtaking views and solar orientation. From the exterior, this modern rustic dwelling blends beautifully with the local mountain vernacular, featuring a stacked stone foundation, reclaimed wood siding, and exposed structural steel detailing. On the interior, this Colorado mountain home leans into a more modern aesthetic with sophisticated industrial touches throughout.

Looks like an excellent vacation home.

We need more exterior photos though. Especially some in the Snow.

Love the way the architect used massive stone bases for the deck columns, rather than just taking skinny wood posts all the way to the ground

Awesome home. Question — where did you get the blanket that is laying across the bed in the 8th picture (I think the bedroom by Pierre Frey.

I want to buy that blanket immediately, please! :)
