Eric Olsen Design, together with interior design studio RailiCA Design, has crafted this midcentury-inspired seaside home situated on a hilltop property in Corona del Mar, California. Encompassing 3,450 square feet of living space, this four-bedroom residence was created for a family of five.
This dream home offers sweeping ocean views, with a design that caters to the family’s lifestyle needs while embracing style and comfort. The dwelling is centered around a courtyard that provides the public spaces with access to a relaxing pool area via floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors.
Sleek Kitchen With Leathered-Granite Countertops
Above: This sleek kitchen overlooking the sea features custom basket-style pendant lights by Buzzell Studios, creating a soft, warm glow against the leathered-granite countertops and the board-formed concrete backsplash. The island counter stools were sourced from Jayson Home.

Homeowners’ Request: An open and spacious house centered on entertaining that could cater to large get-togethers, yet feel intimate and cozy to meet the family’s daily activities.
Dining Table Seats Sixteen for Entertaining
Above: This 14-foot table was custom-fabricated to seat up to 16 guests comfortably, perfect for entertaining. A light artisan created the wall-mounted arm lights affixed to the board-formed concrete wall. The leather-wrapped chairs were sourced from Holly Hunt.

Owner’s Bedroom with Herringbone Accent Wall
Above: The owner’s bedroom suite features a custom wood accent wall installation in a herringbone pattern. The bed and side tables were also custom-designed for this space. The bedding was sourced from Matteo and Restoration Hardware, while the wall sconces are from Rejuvenation.
What We Love About This Home
This mid-century seaside home offers its inhabitants open and spacious living areas brimming with style and personality. The architecture is crisp and clean, while the interior palette complements and softens with organic materials such as leather, oak, and washed textiles. The overall aesthetic is a home that effortlessly balances style and comfort, creating a family home perfect for everyday living and entertaining.
