Nestled along the shores of Lake Washington in the greater Seattle area, this enchanting English cottage was designed by Hughes Studio Architects and built by Dyna Builders. Gray cedar shingle siding, a brick chimney, and a standing seam metal roof are framed by a lush garden bursting with lavender, allium, hydrangea, and Japanese maples. A covered front porch with a swing and rocking chairs invites you to linger, while a flagstone path winds through stone-walled garden beds toward the lake beyond.
This cottage’s décor is warm and inviting, blending traditional elegance with natural charm from the surrounding gardens. The lake reflects hues of marble and stone, while wide-plank reclaimed oak floors add rustic character. French windows and doors fill the home with natural light, and fresh-cut flowers from the garden add a vibrant touch.

What We Love About This Home
From the moment you arrive, the lush gardens surrounding this home set the tone, creating a setting that feels more English countryside than Pacific Northwest. The gray shingle exterior, brick chimney, and covered porch are the kind of architecture that never goes out of style, and the interiors deliver on every promise the outside makes, warm, collected, and genuinely inviting in a way that feels effortless. Add a peaceful lakefront setting and beautifully styled rooms throughout, and this cottage truly has it all.
Tell Us: Does this English cottage style speak to you, or do you prefer a more modern waterfront aesthetic? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the Comments below!
