This luxurious rambler-style house was designed by David Charlez Designs, with builder Swanson Homes and interior designer Carbon 6 Interiors, located in Minnesota. Inside this 7,879-square-foot space, you will find the perfect blend of timeless design and modern wellness living. There are three bedrooms on the main level, two on the lower level, and six bathrooms.

Highlights of this home include 2,400 square feet of outdoor patio area and pool, a pool bathroom, a four-season porch, floor-to-ceiling Marvin Ultimate Windows, a walk-out patio and pool, a four-car garage, a wine room, a spa area with a cold plunge and sauna, an exercise room, a wet bar, a golf simulator, and a sports court.

The homeowners desired a health and wellness-focused home for both entertaining and personal well-being. There is an effortless flow between refined living spaces and thoughtfully integrated wellness amenities. An open-concept living area on the main level centers on the great room, dining area, and gourmet kitchen, with a prep kitchen that elevates functionality and entertainment.

What We Love About This Home

This rambler-style house offers its inhabitants a sophisticated sanctuary where wellness-focused living and beautiful, custom details are found throughout. We love so much about this home, from the warmth of the wood beams on the ceiling to the rounded archways and light-filled sunroom with its dramatic green walls, along with the beautiful powder room with its custom vanity. The resort-style swimming pool is fabulous, the perfect spot to enjoy the summer months.

Above: The homeowners requested a wood-burning fireplace for their great room, as they had had one in their previous home in Chicago. The fireplace has a stunning limestone surround. The ceiling features reclaimed white oak beams.

Above: Only the corners of the archways throughout the home are rounded, a unique touch from traditional archways.

Above: In the kitchen, you will find beautiful plain sawn oak cabinetry paired with a dolomite countertop. On the island, the base cabinets and the upper cabinets of the hood wall are rounded. This was done to tie in with the sheetrock opening of the sunroom and the other sheetrock opening into the great room. The ceiling features gorgeous reclaimed white oak beams that echo the sunroom’s ceiling material.

Above: The pantry features a fluted glass interior window that brings daylight into this space. It also allows the homeowner to see who is pulling into the driveway when they are in the pantry. The green cabinets match the sunroom’s hue, toned down to 50% to keep the space feeling light and airy. The ceiling lights are alabaster, sourced from Visual Comfort by Kelly Wearstler.

Above: The focal point of the sunroom is its stone-clad fireplace. The space was painted a very dark green called ‘Vintage Couture’ by Tonester Paints. The ceiling is reclaimed white oak sourced from Manomin Resawn Timbers. This warm, welcoming space is where the homeowners spend most of their time.

Above: The powder bath features a custom vanity in Calcutta viola marble, beautifully paired with white oak drawers and matching Calcutta viola marble knobs. The walls are Roman Clay in the color Damascus, an eco-friendly plaster finish that is ideal for smooth interior walls from Portolla Paint. The alabaster wall sconces really pop against the backdrop of the Roman Clay.

Above: The stunning built-in behind the office desk features Arabescato Viola marble slabs for the backsplash and countertops. It is paired with white oak floating shelves, which are rounded to tie in with the theme of rounded edges and corners found throughout the home. The opposite side of the built-ins (not pictured) is a biophilic wall with real plants. They are self-watering picture frames filled with different types of plants. They were a homeowner request, as these air-cleaning plants are health and wellness-focused.

Above: In the home office, the custom doors are by Truestile, with fluted glass that pairs well with the glass in the kitchen pantry. The upper doors have a rounded radius, which ties into the design of the archways throughout the home.
