DK Studio Architecture has designed this gorgeous traditional East Coast-inspired house encompassing 3,400 square feet of living space, situated in Boerne, Texas. Step inside this dwelling built by Colt Custom Homes to find fabulous living spaces that include three bedrooms (including a bunkroom), a home office, elegant living and dining rooms, a chef’s kitchen with a scullery, a convenient laundry/mud room, an upstairs children’s playroom, and a three-car garage.

Throughout the home, custom built-in cabinets provide ample storage, ensuring functionality for a busy family. The design style is traditional with Northeast turn-of-the-century architectural elements, a white painted brick exterior, and large metal windows. A design challenge encountered by the team when working on this project was working with a floodplain encroachment in the property as well as situating the house appropriately to the street and everyday use of the site.

The design solution was to site the structure to the east of the property, to provide easy vehicle access, views of the site, and minimal tree disturbance while accommodating the floodplain accordingly.
