This Nordic-inspired farmhouse was renovated by Ripple Design Studio in collaboration with Lisa Staton Design, located in Woodinville, Washington. Just a short 30-minute drive from downtown Seattle, Woodinville is known for its wine culture and small-town charm, Tucked into a woodsy setting, the scope of this project entailed a comprehensive renovation of the existing house and a substantial addition.

The homeowner drew inspiration from Nordic modern farmhouses and the simplicity of California-casual design. The exterior facade has a crisp, inky gray-black hue that harmonizes with the lush hillside setting. Interior finishes were selected to have layers of warmth and texture. This approach featured a recurring palette of white oak, gray concrete, and handmade glazed tiles.

Every room within the home exudes a unique and special character while upholding a unified theme of materials and design throughout the entire house. The furnishings and fixtures were selected from one-of-a-kind artisans, with an emphasis on natural materials such as linen, wool, stone, or ceramics.

Its design features clean lines, expansive walls of glazing, and a deliberate emphasis on using natural materials. Overall, we love the aesthetics of this peaceful, light-filled oasis and how it seamlessly blends with its evergreen terrain.
