Tour this idyllic Nantucket beach house with an inviting vibe

beach-house-entry

This idyllic Nantucket beach house was designed by Botticelli + Pohl in collaboration with Katie Martinez Design, located on a rugged stretch of coastline next to natural wetlands. Built from the ground up, the owners requested a multigenerational feel to their home, as if it had been there for quite some time.

The designer drew on her experience of memories from childhood summers spent on Martha’s Vineyard in the house that had been built by her great-grandparents. The result is a summer house that feels old, as though it had been passed down through many generations. It is furnished with a mixture of new, antique, and vintage pieces to create unfussy, layered rooms.

In the kitchen, the fumed white oak flooring by BABA Antique Wooden Floors brings inviting warmth. The custom island features a walnut countertop. Instead of upper cabinetry, the designer created a hutch with a plate rack. Over the island are vintage pendant lights consisting of glass and enamel.
