Beautiful English country house in Charlotte with a modern twist

Pike Properties is responsible for the design of this beautiful home nestled on an expansive suburban property in Charlotte, North Carolina. For the style of this dwelling, the builders felt that it blended several architectural styles into one unique home. Yet to nail it down to one style label, they opted to call it “Modern English Country.” The project team took advantage of the large site and included a unique feature into the design, a Porte Cochere that leads to a motor court.

Flickering gas lanterns helps to illuminate this outdoor space in the twilight hours as you pull through the Porte Cochere. Porte Cochere’s has an interesting history that dates back to the late 18th century. They were used in private luxury mansions and public buildings, enabling horse carriages to drop their passengers during inclement weather without them being exposed to the elements. Today, there are plenty of luxury private residences that still maintain this beautiful and inviting design feature.

Encompassing 4,789 square feet of living space, this property boasts five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Highlights to this home include a built-in dog station, a custom wine rack and a luxuriously appointed dining room for entertaining guests. There is also a spacious owner’s retreat that includes touchscreen shower controls, Restoration Hardware vanities, and designer chandeliers. A screened-in terrace provides the ultimate opportunity for dining alfresco while enjoying the views of a lush backyard.

For a pop of color, the interior window trim and doors are painted in Iron Ore SW 7069 – Sherwin-Williams. The foyer lantern ceiling light is the E. F.
