This industrial-chic duplex is designed by Brandon Architects, located in Corona Del Mar Village, a seaside neighborhood in the city of Newport Beach, California. The traditional white siding with white wood paneling features are contrasted with darker elements. These darker elements help add contemporary touches to an overall traditional exterior design. Encompassing 3,346 square feet of living space, this beach house offers two bedrooms, four bathrooms and a 232 square foot rooftop deck. There is also a 201 square foot garage with a covered tandem carport.
The homeowner is a former fashion designer turned interior designer who had a vision for a chic and stylish beach house design. A variety of mixed materials and textures were used throughout, along with a dramatic black and white color palette. The result is a big city, loft-like aesthetic—exactly the look the owner sought to achieve. The usage of steel doors and windows throughout the home allows a substantial, weighted quality to the home balancing out the white siding.
