Southern California beach house with gorgeous industrial-chic accents

beach-style-house-exterior

This industrial-chic duplex is designed by Brandon Architects, located in Corona Del Mar Village, a seaside neighborhood in the city of Newport Beach, California. The traditional white siding with white wood paneling features are contrasted with darker elements. These darker elements help add contemporary touches to an overall traditional exterior design. Encompassing 3,346 square feet of  living space, this beach house offers two bedrooms, four bathrooms and a 232 square foot rooftop deck. There is also a 201 square foot garage with a covered tandem carport.

The homeowner is a former fashion designer turned interior designer who had a vision for a chic and stylish beach house design. A variety of mixed materials and textures were used throughout, along with a dramatic black and white color palette. The result is a big city, loft-like aesthetic—exactly the look the owner sought to achieve. The usage of steel doors and windows throughout the home allows a substantial, weighted quality to the home balancing out the white siding.

What We Love: This beach house offers some fabulous features, including an open concept floor plan and a private rooftop deck. Designed to exude loft-like living with an industrial-chic atmosphere, this duplex has plenty of visual eye candy. Walls of glass disappear in the living room, merging with outdoor spaces — ideal for entertaining. The spacious outdoor patio offers the quintessential California indoor and outdoor lifestyle.

Love love this house and this look. I do think it’s a bit trend specific and not sure how I’d feel about it in five years but for now, LOVE!!
What is the material used around the fireplace? Looks like metal but that would obviously get too hot.
