Dreamy home surrounded by nature in the Spanish countryside

The inhabitants of this home had a dream, to build a charming little house in the middle of the Spanish countryside, surrounded by nature. They originally lived in an apartment, but they wished to instead to surround themselves with trees and seclusion. They first searched for homes in the area, but could not find anything that fit with their vision. So instead, they opted to build their own home, first selecting a piece of propertyโ€”which had lots of trees.

The wife is an interior designer who owns a decoration shop called ” La Maison dโ€™Ingrid”. It is located in Llavaneres, just outside of Barcelona. The home was very thoughtful in design. As nature was so important to them, they decided to give the porch and the outdoor living spaces plenty of attention. They created a chill-out corner with a sofa and lots of cushions for relaxation. The natural ivy curtainย gives the space an ideal freshness. White fabric curtains highlight the openings, creating a tranquil oasis.

What We Love: This serene Spanish countryside home fulfills the dreams of a couple of empty nesters looking for a place to dwell in nature. Spacious outdoor areas offers comfortable seating surrounded by lush greenery, offering relaxation and tranquility. Indoor spaces offers a neutral color palette with natural material elements and views of nature at every turn. We are especially loving the Zen loft in the bedroom, a cozy space to retreat for some extra R&R!

You enter into the home through a luminous hallway. The color palette is very defined, very natural. The designer likes to harmonize, when someone comes home, they should feel relaxed. She searched for everything in shades of gray to give warmth, as well as linens, woods and iron. Yet she does not like perfection, she prefers marks where history can be displayed in each piece. Several of the pieces are recycled, such as the tables, entry benches and outdoor dining room.

Above:ย There is no staircase in this home, since the owner’s came from a duplex, they did not wish to have any more stairs. Instead, the layout of the house is an L-shape. They created an area by day and another by night. In the private area are the bedrooms, which have high ceilings. They wished to have a reading and meditation areaโ€”a Zen loft. A steel ladder was integrated into the design to access this upper space, with a shelf for books and some mats. Below is a mini-stand with a nice chair and a desk. The bedroom is decorated with a soft palette and overlooks the garden.
