Interior DI is a wonderful small apartment design with open and functional interior living spaces by INT2 Architecture, located in Saint-Petesburg, Russia. This 1,130 square foot (105 square meters) renovation project encompassed adding additional space to the home by incorporating the balcony into the interior of the apartment, transforming it into a plywood box. The addition gave space next to the kitchen for a breakfast/dining area right next to a bright window. Another part of the remodel was space created for a work zone. This included room for a desktop and office equipment, separated from the common areas by a bilateral bookshelf. The open kitchen was given an unconventional new layout with storage space and appliances located in cabinets along the far wall and in the kitchen island. The wall cabinet also plays host to book shelves for cookbooks and reading books for the living room. The back of the kitchen wall features floor to ceiling exposed brick that has been painted white, reflecting light from the nearby windows. The style of the interiors is a beautiful mix of Scandinavian tradition and modern interior design. The white washed walls and neutral wood planked flooring act as a backdrop to the pastel hues of coral, pale blue and pearl gray, creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. The most important characteristics of the interior ambiance is the simplicity of design and great attention to detail. At 1 Kindesign we love to feature unique and well designed apartments for inspiration, and this sensational apartment is no exception.
The graphic print from the area rug and pillows adds texture and detail in this otherwise simple design. Small coffee tables are simple to move around when guests come to visit to create more space or to use for placing food and beverages. The easy flow between the living room and kitchen makes entertaining easy. We here at 1 Kindesign love hearing our readers thoughts on the homes we feature. So, what do you think, do you like enjoy the simplicity of this design?
