Architectural firm Vanguard Studio in collaboration with custom home builder John Siemering Homes, completed this interpretation of an Italian farmhouse. Constructed in 2015 in Austin, Texas, the residence showcases a rustic styling with steel elements. The interior of this two-story home is characterized by a contemporary influence within an Italian traditional structure. It is just as visually striking on the exterior facade as it is on the interior. Continue scrolling down to see what we are talking about…
Have a look at two other fabulous home tours that we have featured here on 1 Kindesign from the portfolio of Vanguard Studio: European farmhouse on a Texas hillside soaking in the views and A stunning rustic Mediterranean style villa in rural Texas.
What We Love: This Italian farmhouse features beautiful architectural details such as the walls of stone and factory glass windows. The double volume great room is spectacular, bright and airy and full of character. The leather furnishings lends warmth to the contemporary space, as does the fireplace. We also love the catwalk above the living room, connecting the two sides of the home on the upper level.
Readers, what are your thoughts on this home? Do you find the architecture appealing or do you see design details that you would have done differently? Please share your views with us in the comments section at the end of this article!
Above: An outdoor living space provides additional space for entertaining guests. Lounge chairs and a long wood table for dining al fresco, are covered by a deep overhang. A built-in outdoor kitchen area allows the homeowners to cook outside for family and friends.
