A beautiful renovation project commissioned by the studio Taroms Arquitectes in Mallorca, Spain features a bright and airy interior layout with inviting design. With more spacious surfaces inside and out, the homeowner contracted England-based NP Interiors for the decoration. Gorgeous hand made area rugs by Amy Kent can be seen throughout the interiors. The objectives of the reform were multiple, but among these is the significant expansion of housing. The common areas were organized into three architectural bays. A fourth as a porch with a pergola adds to the elongated spaces.
On the ground level, a single living area was created by removing all partitions. This comprises of a lounge, dining room and kitchen with an island, creating a large spatial perception that allow natural light to flow. This also helps to visually connect between living environments, although each area is well defined by pillars, the height difference and distribution of furnishings. There is a nice contrast of textures between the stone walls and continuous concrete flooring, which helps to spread light.
Interiors feature well defined areas with structural pillars, while the level difference in the hall marks the transition between the living area and kitchen. The furniture layout helps to define each living environment. Material elements includes stone walls, concrete flooring and vaulted ceilings, which provides a harmonious background with different shades, which gives visual continuity to the environments.
What We Love: With inviting design and open and spacious interiors, this renovation project is visually pleasing from indoors to out. A beautiful swimming pool adds to the outdoor living environment, perfect for entertaining friends and family. The covered porch offers an extension from the interiors where dining al fresco can be enjoyed throughout the year. Readers, what are your thoughts on this lovely home renovation?
