The stunning beach house was crafted by GMT Home Designs, together with Encore Construction, as a playful summer retreat in Dennisport, a village on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Bold and colorful accents set a bright, breezy tone for this humble beach-style abode, designed to accommodate a large number of family and friends.
The homeowners requested a whimsical, calming, and upbeat house that is not only beautiful but also functional. Turquoise and white set the palette for the main living space, an airy expanse of kitchen, dining, and living area. The walls are paneled in true white beadboard, accented by doors painted a custom color described as “The Tiffany box blue.”

Above: Flanking either side of the Canyon Creek River Rock fireplace is a custom window seat with glass-door cabinetry. For the door, the paint color is Tropicana Cabana 2048-50 | Benjamin Moore as the base, diluted till the color was just right. The coffered ceiling has white beams that crisscross the light blue ceiling, diluted by 75 percent from the hue of the door. The flooring is 1×4 builder-grade white oak with a Bona matte finish, no stain. Grounding the space is the Agra Rug from Company C.

Above: In the kitchen, an exterior door was fabricated into a Dutch door, acquired at Shepley Wood Products in Hyannis, MA. The Tanga cabinet handles are made of marble from Anthropologie.
Above: To accommodate large family gatherings, a 14-foot length of hard rock maple butcher block tops the island. This defines the kitchen space and is lined with a mix of iron and wood stools. There are plenty of appliances in this kitchen, including an oversized refrigerator and freezer, a wine cooler, and two refrigerator drawers lining the wall of custom cabinetry. The island features a microwave, dishwasher, and a farm-style sink.
Above: The wall art in the master bedroom was purchased from HomeGoods. The reclaimed wood-paneled headboard was found on Etsy. A ladder provides access to the second floor and the overhead loft area. Rope is wrapped around the balcony railing, adding a textural element to this space.
Above: The dimensions of this bathroom are 4′-5 1/2″ x 15′-5″. This includes the shower, which is 4 feet deep. The barn-board floor tile is — Blendart Natural Sable 8×48 from Cloutier Supply. The vanity was custom-made with reclaimed wood. Bona NaturalSeal in a matte finish was used to protect the vanity. The single lever faucets are the Kohler Artifacts Gentleman’s Bar Faucet, while the sinks are Kohler, Spun Glass Vessel Sink.
Above: This nautical-style bunk bedroom is primed for visitors, featuring three sets of built-in bunk beds. Walls are painted in Newburyport Blue HC-155 | Benjamin Moore with a matte finish. The door color is Tropicana Cabana from Benjamin Moore, tampered down to a hue of the homeowner’s liking.
Above: The schoolhouse letter pillows were found on Serena & Lily. The refurbished shiplights were sourced from Freedman’s of Nantucket.
Above: This mudroom is 7′ x 8′. The “Shoes off, please” mat was found on Wayfair.
