This sophisticated mountain contemporary retreat was designed by KA Designworks and is located on a historic ski run at the top of Snowmass Village, Colorado. Encompassing 5,275 square feet, the house provides unparalleled mountain contemporary living. A one-of-a-kind stunner, the home has five bedrooms plus an office with five full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.

The master suite and office are located on the entry-level, along with the great room that includes the kitchen, dining, and living areas. This level is flooded with natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass, and extensive clerestory windows. With oversized pocket doors disappearing into the sunset views, the private master deck is a sight to behold.

As the home is mere inches from the top of the historic Guggenhill ski run, there is a ski locker integrated into the patio, just outside the ski room and directly accessible to the slopes. This entire lower level is wonderfully landscaped and includes an in-ground spa, linear fire pit, and landscape steps down to the yard area.

The generous deck above the living spaces includes snow-melted concrete and overhangs that are perfect for outdoor seating, dining, and cooking.

The sculpted open tread stairs lead you down to the lower level walkout which includes a lavish family and game room with a bar that flows into the ski room and beyond to extensive exterior patios.

What We Love: This sophisticated mountain contemporary retreat is surrounded by the National Forest and the Snowmass Ski Area, making the perfect summer and winter getaway. The generous deck over the living space features snow-melted concrete with shading overhangs provided by the building, perfect for outdoor seating, dining, and cooking, at any time of year. We love the indoor-outdoor feel of this home courtesy of the NanaWall window system in the great room, flooding the space with natural light while soaking in the views.

The remainder of the bedrooms, as well as a dedicated bunk room and large flex area gym/ yoga studio, are located on this level.  In the theme of embracing the outdoors, this level opens up to nearly 2,000 square feet of on-grade patio, a good portion of which is snow-melted, by the use of sliders and an additional NanaWall.

Above: In the great room, a 10-foot aluminum framed NanaWall SL70 systems perfectly blend in with the clerestory windows and glazing surrounding the home. This system is designed to provide comfort in cold climates and excels in wind-driven rain. The minimal profile NanaWalls, double-sided fireplace, and wood ceilings/ soffits blur the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces.
