Michelle Dirkse Interior Design is responsible for the complete transformation of this spectacular waterfront home in the picturesque coastal haven of Gig Harbor, Washington. A family vacation home, it needed a major overhaul, along with new furnishings and decor. The scope of this remodel project entails adding a third bedroom within the existing footprint, improving the master bathroom layout, updating the kitchen, and refreshing all of the finishes and fixtures.
To blend old with new, the designers preserved the original elements. This included the paneled walls, exposed beams, and wood floor with bullet casing details, pairing them with modern flat-front cabinets and a clean, minimal soapstone fireplace. The new modern furniture is minimal yet comfortable while contrasting with the home’s architecture. To maintain the clean, minimal look of the new fireplace, a low-profile “frame TV” was installed above the gas insert.
What We Love: This waterfront home in Washington offers a beautiful new layout with comfortable furnishings and inviting aesthetics. Bright and airy living spaces create a welcoming feel for this family vacation home. Material elements of wood infuse warmth throughout while adding a cabin-esque feel to the overall design.
