This lovely family beach house located just outside of the city in the coastal town of Cohasset, Massachusetts was given a modern refresh by Pinney Designs. Inside you will find spacious family living and beautiful city views. The challenge presented to the designer was to stylistically meet the needs of a growing family of five.
From outdoor entertaining areas to an interior study, mudroom, kitchen, living room, and more, each space was introduced to modern amenities, storage, and a cohesive design. Light and airy fixtures were added as a contrast to the dark hardwoods and moldings that highlighted the home’s distinct details.

Above: This laundry room has plenty of functional ideas for hanging, drying, and folding. The drying cabinet was designed by the interior designer and custom-built by a skilled cabinet maker. The pullout shelves were made specifically for this space and cannot be purchased as a pre-assembled unit. A rubber-coated stainless mesh is used so that it doesn’t rust with the moisture of the wet clothes. The mesh insert is surrounded by a wood frame and is mounted on drawer glides inside the cabinet. The washer and dryer units are from Bosch.
