A bright and airy Mediterranean home gets transformed in Coral Gables

mediterranean-home-exterior

Calimia Home has reimagined this Mediterranean-style home into a beautiful open and airy floor plan, located in Coral Gables, a city near Miami, Florida. Nestled behind a beautifully tree-lined street, the exterior was transformed with a fresh coat of creamy white paint, a dark door, new windows, and striped awnings. The gorgeous exterior mirrors the inside aesthetic.

The home was completely modernized for today’s design trends while respecting the original historic design and details. The walls were taken down to the studs, pulling off layers of yellow Venetian plaster. Original details such as the arches, oak floors, and even the French range were preserved in the new design.

Another original element that the designers opted to keep was the cherry cabinets, which were sanded and painted. The kitchen was completely opened up by removing the upper cabinets and adding open shelving with modern sconces. Upstairs, they created a primary suite with a relaxing palette and beautiful furnishings, and a serene baby’s nursery.

Are you able to share what the exterior colors of the home are, walls and door?

Way too many close-up photos of lamps, pillows and small sections of rooms making it impossible to feel the scale and actual function of the spaces.

Thank you for posting that! I totally agree..I want to see the rooms, not the small decor items that are displayed.
