Olson Lewis + Architects in a collaboration with Windover Construction designed this charming seaside cottage on the North Shore of Massachusetts, a region north of Boston, along the Atlantic coast. The cottage was designed to take in the panoramic views of the harbor and brilliant light from all angles. The design of the approximately 4,000 square-foot home was inspired by the traditional English Arts and Crafts style and blended with a contemporary take on the interior details throughout the home.
The main cottage includes a kitchen and great room that leads out to a three-season porch with retractable screens, an office/laundry/mudroom, and garage on the lower level, with two-bedroom suites and family room on the upper level. An entry link connects the main house to the master suite wing, which features a bedroom, his/her dressing rooms and bathrooms, and an office loft with a balcony open to the master bedroom below. Outlined with dramatic rooflines, the exterior finishes feature cedar shingles, stucco, stone, and decorative rafter tails.
What We Love: This charming seaside cottage features a beautiful exterior design that opens into a warm and cozy atmosphere on the interior. An idyllic home surrounded by the beauty of its waterfront location and lovely gardens. It’s inhabitants enjoy a tranquil environment for personal relaxation while also having plenty of space to share this wonderful home with visiting family and friends.
