This modern-rustic home using reclaimed timbers was designed by Tommy Hein Architects in collaboration with Lisa Kanning Interior Design, located in Telluride, Colorado. Nestled into the hillside, this new residence and restored historic guest shed form an arc of respect to the adjacent National Historic Landmark Museum.

Recycled wood siding re-milled to recall the scale of historic lap siding. Reclaimed timbers with raw steel brackets. Cut limestone recalls the pattern of the cliffs above and relates to the scale of historic brick. Steel siding recalls historic mining structures in the mountainous region. Patinated copper standing seam roof.
What We Love: This gorgeous mountainside home features some notable material elements used throughout its construction. We are especially loving the look of the reclaimed timbers, adding an inviting warmth to this masterpiece.
