This new ‘old’ farmhouse getaway was designed by David Weekley Homes in collaboration with Lindsey Herod Interiors, situated in the picturesque countryside of Brenham, Texas. The residence was purchased by a Houston couple whose family once owned the property from 1968 to 1999. The couple, who were high school sweethearts had so many fond memories going there and wished they had it to share with their children.

They bought the property in 2015 after discovering it on the market and now use it as a countryside escape for their multi-generational family. Living spaces feature vaulted ceilings, shiplap walls, and stacked stone accents along with new classics such as steel-framed windows and oversized lighting to create a rustic yet refined aesthetic.

This gorgeous farmhouse was created for a pair of empty nesters with three children and grandchildren and is centered around entertaining. There are eight bedrooms, five of which have en-suite bathrooms and the other three are bunk rooms. Each one was designed to be unique, with wall and ceiling treatments and plenty of country charm.

Above: The owners wanted their retreat to feel like a country house yet have tons of personality and visually appealing textiles and colors. In the main living areas, the designer has curated a palette of neutral hues complemented by shades of blue.

What We Love: This Texas farmhouse getaway provides a multi-generational family with a wonderful and beautifully decorated respite in the countryside. The beautiful color palette in this home is inspired by the owner’s love of wildflowers and the Texas landscape. These stunning details are scattered throughout the home, from the living room’s floral chairs to the hand-painted mural in the owner’s bathroom and the more subtle detailing on the powder bathroom walls.
