Inside this New Jersey house makeover with an organic and timeless feel

This organic and timeless house has undergone a complete transformation by Colette Interiors, located in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. The homeowner comprises a family of six, including four young children. The project team’s objective was to establish an inviting yet sophisticated area that prioritizes relaxed comfort.

Embracing an organic modern design aesthetic, the designer incorporated elements such as warm woods, Moroccan tiles, over-grouted stone, and a rich variety of layers and textures. To provide a sleek foundation for art, styling, and décor, we utilized paneling with v-groove and tongue & groove on ceilings, walls, and backsplashes.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented significant challenges, resulting in delays in furnishings. The project team patiently awaited the arrival of their custom upholstered sofas for the living room, which took a year, along with other prolonged delays for various furnishings and finishes.

Among the distinctive features of the space, the breakfast nook held a special place. By modernizing it, the designer achieved a seamless and organic transition between the living and kitchen areas, enhancing the overall natural flow.

What We Love: This house in New Jersey has undergone a major overhaul to provide warm and inviting living spaces for its lucky inhabitants. The designer did a fabulous job of thoughtfully curating every detail in this home, from the finishes and fixtures to the designer furnishings and accessories. We are loving every element of this newly refreshed home, especially the great room with its reclaimed wood ceiling and stone-clad fireplace.
