Vetter Architects together with Amy Carman Design has created this stunning modern house nestled on a 107-acre property in the Kettle Moraine region of Wisconsin. This concept of this dwelling began as a hunting retreat for the husband and his friends, expanding to become a place where all are welcome.
The design reflects a boutique hotel living experience in one wing and a hunting lodge in the other, connected by a central great room. Beech trees dotting this property inspired the exterior facade of this dwelling, which features a silvery white stucco. On the interior, the design scheme nods to Miami’s South Beach neighborhood, from the dynamic artwork to the sleek furnishings and finishes.

The dwelling is composed of three main forms, a main living area and two distinct wings running perpendicular to one another.
The open and airy great room features white walls, polished concrete floors and rift-sawn white oak cabinets and millwork.

Above: In the living room, a linen upholstered Minotti sectional surrounds a board-formed concrete fireplace. The cocktail table is by Palecek.
The hunting wing is outfitted with a metal clad locker room for hunting gear, a game room and dedicated guest rooms.
In the center, both wings come together in a fabulous living space with an expansive kitchen, dining and living area, all of which open onto a grand pool and patio.
The disciplined beauty of modern architecture sets the stage for a maximalist interior features, including a mirrored bar complete with Hunt Slonum bunny wallpaper. The artwork on the wall is by T.L. Solien and was sourced from the Tory Folliard Gallery.
The most notable feature of the living space is the jewel box bar. With the home’s social purpose in mind, the designers situated the bar in the heart the main living space, rather than relegating it to a lower level.
What We Love: This striking modern house in Wisconsin provides its occupants with a fabulous getaway home that is inspired by nature. Designed with both style and comfort, this luxuriously appointed home has everything one could need to feel right at home in the countryside. We are loving that the neutral color palette does not compete with the pastoral landscape that surrounds this breathtaking dwelling.
