KGA Studio Architects designed this stunning contemporary farmhouse in coloration with Ascent Builders at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colorado. This 5,100-square-foot custom home is the perfect blend of a contemporary aesthetic with the natural beauty of the region’s topography. 

This dwelling was built with a dream in mind: a cozy, grand space centered around the fireplace, inspired by the old churches of Nova Scotia, where the homeowners are originally from. The floor-to-ceiling, see-through fireplace welcomes guests and warms the entire space. From the foyer, you’ll notice the gable end window perfectly aligned with a break in the chimney, creating perfect harmony.

A neutral color palette grounds the home’s interior and exterior, with intentional pops of vibrant hues throughout. To achieve this balance, the architects knew that the sweeping view of the mountains deserved an unobstructed connection to nature. The U-shaped design creates an intimate outdoor patio with shelter from the wind.

The exterior facade blends modern siding with natural stone, along with a gabled roof and a modern one (modular layout with pods linked by flat roof connectors). The result is a transitional style that also showcases the hallmark of bringing the outside in.

What We Love: This contemporary Colorado farmhouse boasts an attractive exterior facade, meticulous landscaping, and bright and airy great room space. The project team did a fabulous job of breaking down the mass of the home and creating cozy living spaces despite the house being large. Overall this dwelling was tastefully designed with playful touches throughout.

The symmetrical great room is drenched with natural light and is as livable as it is grand with 3,372 square feet of main-level living.
