W Design Collective is responsible for the interior design of this warm and inviting home that is located in Holladay, a city in central Salt Lake County, Utah. The homeowner’s desired a clean aesthetic with strong lines and a neutral color palette for an overall welcoming feel. Despite its simple color scheme, this home offers plenty of layered tones and natural textures.
The clean and neutral aesthetic begins at the entryway, setting the tone with a beautiful console table styled with calming art and warm natural accents. Continue below to see the rest of this inviting Utah home tour…
Just off the entry are this gorgeous open layout kitchen, dining, and living room. For the kitchen, things were kept light and airy, contrasted with beautiful Virginia Mist Granite on the countertops and backsplash. This stone was perfect for this kitchen — it’s dark but not too dark.
To add balance and give the island a more unique shape, drawers were added on the front side of the island. Seating is wrapped around two sides for a more conversational seating arrangement.
What We Love: This inviting home in Utah offers a beautiful floor plan layout that is conducive to family living and entertaining in style. There is a wonderful flow throughout this abode thanks to the open layout and cohesive material palette. We are especially loving the gorgeous kitchen with its contrasting black countertops and backsplash and large center island for prep and just hanging out in the heart of the home.

Above: The beautiful piano is a piece the homeowners already owned and was made the focal point of this dining room. The wall was built out to integrate recessed shelving and personalize it with art and lighting to make this open dining area feel more intentional. It is an unexpected detail that pulls this space together.
Above: This inviting family room is formal enough to host gatherings yet comfortable enough to be a family hang-out space. There is plenty of seating for everyone to watch a movie or their favorite sports team while being in close proximity to the kitchen and dining areas to make it an ideal gathering place for all.
Above: The homeowners were both working from home way before COVID, so they were already at ease with home office life. The designer made their work-from-home situation more comfortable by giving them matching desks with a peninsula in the center for additional workspace and ample storage.
Above: This serene owner’s bedroom offers a respite from the chaos of life. The neutral color palette, soft surfaces, and symmetry are calming and make for an idyllic place to wind down and get plenty of rest.
Above: In the bathroom, a makeup vanity with mirrors is mounted to the tower cabinetry to maximize light and provide the space a standout feature. Along the length of the double vanity on the opposite side, a long mirror is used to enhance the space. A shallow ledge is added above the counter for small toiletries.
Above: This upstairs laundry room features green cabinetry, penny tile floors, and an abundance of natural light. It is the perfect place to sort, fold and hang clothes.
Above: This sweet little girl’s room features a custom window bench and built-in shelves, the perfect space for daydreaming.
Above: For the girl’s bathroom, interest is added to this tonal space with paneling on the walls and a neutral checkerboard pattern on the floor. It’s playful yet sophisticated.
Above: In the bedroom of the owner’s teenage son, things were kept simple and mature so it can be a place for him to grow up. A wall of shelves provides the perfect spot to store his favorite books and collectibles through the years.
Above: In the mudroom, full-overlay cabinetry with a v-groove detail makes this utilitarian space feel special. It’s the perfect spot for winter coats, shoes, backpacks and anything else brought in from the garage to be neatly stored away.
Above: Just off the mudroom, this bright bathroom is covered with soft blue textured wallpaper and continued the tongue and groove you see throughout the home for consistency. The vanity adds the perfect balance of warmth through the natural wood.
