Marnie Custom Homes is responsible for the design of this oceanfront beach house located in Bethany Beach, a small coastal town in Delaware. A mix of both traditional and contemporary interior design styles, this home focuses on the ocean views from almost every room in the home.
Inside you will find a sumptuous 5,770 square feet of living space with six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. With homeowners in general spending more time at their beach homes, this one is designed for year-round living with a full office, home gym, and of course a bar!
The color palette was inspired by the ocean backdrop — blue, white, and neutral tones were pulled in for the interior’s aesthetic for a classic coastal color scheme. The exterior facade features a gray-shingle courtesy of New Cedar.
The kitchen, living room, and dining area are all designed as one open concept living space on the second floor with the bedrooms located on the third floor.

The Anderson sliding doors lead to a screened-in porch overlooking the ocean – the perfect spot to watch the sunrise with your morning coffee. On the other side of the room, the sliders lead to an oceanfront deck.
The lower level rec room is set among the dunes and was designed for multi-generational use, including playing ping pong, watching movies, enjoying the home bar, or breaking a sweat in the home gym. It’s also a perfect respite for a rainy day or to cool off after a day at the beach. A classic beach mural from Magic Murals creates the ideal backdrop in this space. The jute-globe pendant light is from Shades of Light. The walls are painted in SW 7636 Origami White – Sherwin-Williams. On the floors, Coretec Luxury vinyl plank; color: Angels Landing.
