This warm and rustic home was designed by Swanson Homes in collaboration with Carbon 6 Interiors, located in the gorgeous Lakeview neighborhood of Mound, Minnesota. Inside you will find beautiful reclaimed wood accents from the vaulted ceiling beams that connect the great room and dining room to the sliding barn door of the home office and many other accents throughout.
Custom additions of stonework, quartz countertops, a dog washing station, and a luxury wine room all add to the unique and distinctive elements of this dwelling. The swimming pool in the backyard is idyllic for the warm Minnesota summers with sweeping views over the large neighborhood pond.

The homeowner’s request for their great room was to have ample storage space combined with spaces to display personalized items. Their vision was for a rustic, warm, inviting and cozy space for lounging and gathering. The project team fulfilled this request by adding distressed wood ceiling beams, along with a matching mantel, and a tumbled natural stone fireplace.
Above: A Samsung Frame TV above the fireplace mantel displays artwork when the TV is turned off. Flanking either side of the fireplace and recessed into the wall is stained alder cabinetry. The walls are painted in White Dove OC-17 | Benjamin Moore. Wide-plank hardwood floors bring warmth into this space.
What We Love: This modern yet rustic home in Minnesota provides inviting and casual living spaces with large windows and engaging views. The use of wood on the floors and ceiling beams brings warmth, while the scenic views outside provide a welcoming respite. We are especially loving the living room, from the stone fireplace to the vaulted ceiling and cozy furniture arrangement.
