A modern rustic farmhouse with glorious views of Oregon’s high desert

Norman Building & Design is responsible for the creation of this modern rustic farmhouse nestled in the golf resort community of Tetherow in Bend, Oregon. This spectacular neighborhood is an idyllic place to call home, cradled beneath the snowcapped Cascade peaks and situated among the ponderosa pines of the Deschutes National Forest.

Inside this modern farmhouse with rustic touches, you will find roughly 3,600 square feet of living space, spread out over a single level. There are three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a study, and a media room, along with a spacious (almost 1,800 square feet) garage with storage for a ‘sprinter’ style RV.

Above: A birds-eye view of the home shows how the golf course wraps around the Cascade Mountains beyond. On the right, you can see the RV garage.

Above: This custom pivoting front door is 6′ wide and 8′ tall. The door itself weighs 450 lbs yet opens and closes with the slightest pull. The hallway leads to the study and master wing of the farmhouse.

Above: In the home’s great room, the floor-to-ceiling windows by Jeld-Wen frame panoramic views of Oregon’s High Desert.

What We Love: This farmhouse dwelling offers warm and inviting living spaces with beautiful details throughout. Classic farmhouse touches can be found at every turn, from the sliding barn doors to the open shelving, distressed wood beams, and rustic wood flooring. Large walls of glazing help to capture views of the captivating landscape, providing a relaxed vibe to this comfortable home. Overall, we are loving every element of this welcoming home.
