This design-build company Artisan Builders has created this Rocky Mountain home with an impressive timber frame construction, located off of Last Dollar Road near Telluride, Colorado. The simple form of this timber frame was constructed hand-hewn beams of reclaimed elm and ash.
The interior mountain modern design includes a 28 foot cantilevered steel I-beam held in place with a 1-inch steel rod hanging from the roof structure that supports a 350 square foot loft. The loft cantilevered above the kitchen and dining areas helps to make these spaces feel cozy, while the living area is open to the custom timber frame above.

What We Love: This Rocky Mountain home boasts impressive design elements throughout from the hand-hewn beams to the soaring ceilings and upper loft. A beautiful backdrop of rugged mountains creates a feeling of intimacy for this warm and inviting abode. Interior spaces are designed to be open and airy with views maximized towards the glorious Colorado Rockies. We are especially loving the living room with its soaring ceilings, large windows, floor-to-ceiling fireplace and cozy atmopshere.

There is an impressive amount of reclaimed wood throughout the entire home that is accented with many steel details, stone, and glass. This dwelling was designed to maximize the incredible views of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
